Changed my Meeting Date Time and Location

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

I had to do this today as the rent at the place I was at was too much; especially when there are only two in attendance so far. I also changed the time to 7:30PM on a Monday. Hopefully this will give more people the chance to come; the woman in Ballinderry who is interested said She doesn’t work on a Monday Night therefore could make it.

I rang my sponsor, but she said she couldn’t make it due to commitments at home.

OA Retreat at Benburb priory on Sunday 27th June

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

I heard about this retreat at Tonight’s Dungannon meeting. At first I was apprehensive, as that was the date of my Arrival from Amsterdam for the Flight I booked through the Spar offer. However I have decided, since I need to focus on the program, that I will cancel the flight and try and get a refund. This is more important.

The meeting discussed Step 3. It made me take stock of what I’m doing, that I am too impulsive and spontaneous in life. I DO need more structure; which is why I want to return to the workplace. Our cleaner is taking Gran to Mass tomorrow morning, I’ll come with her; I went myself this morning.

I want to prove to myself; as well as those on here; that I am taking my recovery serious.

OA Meeting in Galway

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

In a Fortnight’s time I’m heading to Galway for St. Patrick’s Day. Having checked the OA Ireland meeting list it says there’s a Tuesday Night meeting in Galway at 8. My Bus will probably arrive in Galway between Half 5 and 6, so I should get enough time to check into my Hotel and then head to the meeting venue.

ps. I hope the details are still correct. Changes in NI schedule still haven’t been rectified.

About trying to find a Job

Monday, March 1st, 2010

At the moment I’m claiming Carer’s Allowance; which limits Paid work to 16 Hours a Week. I’ve searched Part Time Jobs on the Job Centre’s NI Website, but the vast majority are 19-25 Hours a Week; mainly aimed at Working Mothers. Also many jobs have to be applied through Recruitment Agencies; which have all proven to be fruitless for me in the past.

Last Monday I applied for a 16 Hour a Week Call Centre Job in Armagh. Now that I know I can drive to Armagh, having driven to there for OA Meetings, distance can be no barrier. When I mentioned this to Gran she took her usual hissy fit, but I think she’ll come round.

Terri mentioned Voluntary Work, but I have already worked Voluntary. I definitely need a job, not just to get me out of the House but to provide for my Gran and Brother. If there is a Job that meets the criteria, I’ll apply for it.

I’m not gonna be ‘Poor me’ any more.
