Got up early today

Having had a convo on MSN with Terri last night I set my alarm for Half 8 this morning.

I woke up at half 7 to go to the Toilet, then went back to bed until the alarm sounded an Hour later. Then Gran went spare over her Tablets. It was probably a storm in a Teacup, but try telling that to her.

Then I went for a walk to the main Shop then over to the Shop where me and my Brother usually get Breakfast; which took 30 Minutes. I had breakfast there, but not too much. Afterwards I got a lift home.

I still feel a bit drowsy, but I’m feeling better inside.

Good for you for getting up early Des. Now, you have to ignore your gran when she “goes spare” over things. They will sort themselves out. Why are you going out for breakfast? Gosh Des, that is a rare treat usually saved for holidays, and what did you have for breakfast? I hope it was oatmeal or porridge, if you had a fry, then you can expect to be very tired for the day. You have to listed to what I try to help you with. I want you to get away from the currys – you are always eating curry and Indian food. Start having chicken with veg, chops, small steak or fish. Fish is the easiest thing to cook – just wash it, put it in tin foil and squeeze a little lemon juice over it and bake – thats it. What I think you need to do it this: Rise at 8.30am, eat breakfast (cereal or oatmeal), and then go for a long walk – drive somewhere nice and get out and walk for about 1/2 and hour to an hour, then read some of the bible you are purchasing today and the 12 and 12. Try doing this for a month each day, you need to get structure in your life Des, and this is the start.

Listen to Terri, Des. How many times have I told you that so far ?

You are lucky she is taking an interest in your welfare and your life.
    She talks common sense.

Sometimes when I read your posts about going out to a shop to buy breakfast, I really think I have had enough !

It’s your life Des. You need to be using your own common sense in how you live. Noone puts food in your mouth other than you. Noone makes choices for you. It’s about you and the thought and effort you put into your own life. And the return you get from that.

Georgie is right Des. Also, as Georgie said – we are not interested in when you went to the toilet. Please think before you say things, both in speech and writing. Des, you are 30 years of age, you know better. See I believe this all has a lot to do with your having way too much time on your hands. What about that job you were taking – are you still working??? You need to get off the computer, you are spending too much time on it. I keep saying you need structure in your life, but you don’t seem to be listening. I hope you asked for the information on the retreats yesterday, I would like you to do a retreat at that monastery as I think it would really help you. But you have to help yourself Des. Time to step up and do the right thing.

  4. Des says:

Yes, I DO need to help myself. I just sent an e-mail enquiring further about those retreats.

I got up today at 10 to 8 and had Fruit and Fibre for Breakfast. When I arrived at Connolly Station I had a Chicken Sandwich; trying to ‘Do the opposite of what my Head tells me’ was difficult as there was a tempting Ham and Cheese Roll there. On the Train I just had Cups of Tea.

Though, I did have Crisps in Portadown. :(

However, I brought some OA Books over with me for the time I’m staying. I read Step 1 last night, I recognised the content; as the OA CD Narrates directly from the 12 and 12.

Des I do realize how hard it is for you when food is all around. But listen, if you exercise daily, your weight will not be an issue. Des, you have the time to do this – you are extremely lucky in this respect. We all work from 9 till 5 and have to work out when we get home. You can get up and do a workout first thing in the morning, the best time to do it – gosh I wish you would realize how lucky you are and stop feeling sorry for yourself and walk at least for 1/2 an hour each day. You feel more positive when you do this.

When you see food like that ham and cheese roll that is tempting – just think – 5 minutes to eat it – years to get the weight off.

    Terri,

When I have a Sandwich at another local restaurant I usually have Chicken and Sweetcorn with it. Maybe I can buy Sweetcorn and Chicken; just adapt the same principles as making a Curry, but without the Sauce. I like Sweetcorn; Green Giant has a ‘No added Salt or Sugar’ variety. I could even find out how to make Roasties.

btw, I walked round Dublin for about 40 Minutes Today. I do know a good place to walk outside Cookstown; Mid Ulster Sports Arena. I’ll make the effort to go there as often as I can.

Best chicken sandwiches are the ones made at home :) Swap the bread for a wrap and you have a healthy alternative. Have you tried having fresh fruit and veggie smoothies, that’s something you can do so easily on your own. They help keep energy levels stable during the day and keeps your hunger at bay. You only need a blender, not even a fancy one and it will open up so many possibilities.
