Now that the weather was fine this week; it was as high as 10 Celsius earlier; I attended this week’s Sunday Night meeting of OA in Armagh. It was great to see those I hadn’t seen since the last time I was there, there were 10 at the meeting. We had a good natter and then discussed Step 11.
Funny thing happened to me over the weekend; which I shared; about a ‘Mystic Meg’ Application I have on Facebook. It predicted bad things for me due to ‘The colour Red and a Woman’. Low and behold, I had to take Gran to Mass this morning in our Red car and she was going spare about me opening the Door too wide and about edging out from the Park.
It’s funny how these things happen. I know myself there’s no such thing as coincidence, “Things happen for a reason” (Quote from ‘A series of Unfortunate Events’ by Lemony Snickett) and they do. I just have to accept powerlessness over other people and that I should only try to change myself; with the help of my HP.
The meeting itself discussed Step 11. I pray as often as I can for guidance, though I have been doing it for so long for personal gain. I’m still not clued up on the meditation side of it. Might need advice from members here about that.
All in all, a good day.
Yes, Des, I think turning to your HP is the way to go.
And prayer and meditation.
Try to cut some slack for your Gran. What will you be like when you are 84?
I suppose so.
Tomorrow our Plumber is coming over to install a new Radiator in the Living Room. It was our cleaner’s suggestion as the flimsy ones the house has had for its entire 32 Years of existence no longer produce any heat. Last Wednesday I was able to bleed the upright Radiators we have in order to get more heat into them.
First thing Today I had to send my Brother to the Doctors; he still is with Stewartstown Doctors who I stopped using 2 Years ago. Then I had to head to Magherafelt to leave an old TV into the Council Office’s Recycling Depot. Then finally had to clear out the basement underneath the stairs for the Plumber’s arrival tomorrow. To add onto that I received a few calls about ads in the local papers, which I’ve found out are only for one week’s copy.
I haven’t had the chance to relax, my final Spanish class prior to Next Week’s exam is Tonight. No rest for the wicked, eh? :\
Des, meditation is a wonderful thing. When saying the rosary I meditate on each decade as a part of Christs life here on earth. Example: when saying the sorrowful mysteries, I meditate on His passion and the painful walk He took bearing His cross, and the actual Crucifixion. I picture Mary at the cross and the other people there. This brings me very close to God, and I feel such sorrow in my heart for him. I feel as if I am present at this time and could almost touch His beaten face. Read up on meditation Des, it brings such a wonderful inner peace. You can meditate on almost anything. I love sitting outside in nature, alone, quiet, it brings to mind so many things to meditate on. Start on simple meditation Des, not difficult.
Des,
I was reading this:
‘Tomorrow our Plumber is coming over to install a new Radiator in the Living Room. It was our cleaner’s suggestion as the flimsy ones the house has had for its entire 32 Years of existence no longer produce any heat.’
It has been snowing over there, hasn’t it? Ice and snow ?
It must have been very cold in your house without your heaters working properly. I reckon your cleaning person needs to go onto your gratitude list. And it looks like you need to have more people coming into your home and picking things up that you and your brother and your Gran may not be noticing.
Yeah Georgie. I am terrible at noticing these sort of things. Yes, our cleaner is a lovely Woman. She’s so bright and cheerful. Also, her Husband’s Cousin married my Cousin 3 Months ago; the Wedding I attended.
