Changed my Meeting Date Time and Location

March 4th, 2010 by desigol1979

I had to do this today as the rent at the place I was at was too much; especially when there are only two in attendance so far. I also changed the time to 7:30PM on a Monday. Hopefully this will give more people the chance to come; the woman in Ballinderry who is interested said She doesn’t work on a Monday Night therefore could make it.

I rang my sponsor, but she said she couldn’t make it due to commitments at home.

OA Retreat at Benburb priory on Sunday 27th June

March 3rd, 2010 by desigol1979

I heard about this retreat at Tonight’s Dungannon meeting. At first I was apprehensive, as that was the date of my Arrival from Amsterdam for the Flight I booked through the Spar offer. However I have decided, since I need to focus on the program, that I will cancel the flight and try and get a refund. This is more important.

The meeting discussed Step 3. It made me take stock of what I’m doing, that I am too impulsive and spontaneous in life. I DO need more structure; which is why I want to return to the workplace. Our cleaner is taking Gran to Mass tomorrow morning, I’ll come with her; I went myself this morning.

I want to prove to myself; as well as those on here; that I am taking my recovery serious.

OA Meeting in Galway

March 2nd, 2010 by desigol1979

In a Fortnight’s time I’m heading to Galway for St. Patrick’s Day. Having checked the OA Ireland meeting list it says there’s a Tuesday Night meeting in Galway at 8. My Bus will probably arrive in Galway between Half 5 and 6, so I should get enough time to check into my Hotel and then head to the meeting venue.

ps. I hope the details are still correct. Changes in NI schedule still haven’t been rectified.

About trying to find a Job

March 1st, 2010 by desigol1979

At the moment I’m claiming Carer’s Allowance; which limits Paid work to 16 Hours a Week. I’ve searched Part Time Jobs on the Job Centre’s NI Website, but the vast majority are 19-25 Hours a Week; mainly aimed at Working Mothers. Also many jobs have to be applied through Recruitment Agencies; which have all proven to be fruitless for me in the past.

Last Monday I applied for a 16 Hour a Week Call Centre Job in Armagh. Now that I know I can drive to Armagh, having driven to there for OA Meetings, distance can be no barrier. When I mentioned this to Gran she took her usual hissy fit, but I think she’ll come round.

Terri mentioned Voluntary Work, but I have already worked Voluntary. I definitely need a job, not just to get me out of the House but to provide for my Gran and Brother. If there is a Job that meets the criteria, I’ll apply for it.

I’m not gonna be ‘Poor me’ any more.

The Lord works in mysterious ways

February 28th, 2010 by desigol1979

Today, when I took Gran home from Tesco, we had a row when I decided to take a Shortcut to the Chappel to visit our Family Grave. She took a huff following.

Then I decided to have a Walk at Springhill; outside Moneymore; then head to Armagh. Just when I was taking a Side Road a Car I had passed almost hit me. I maintain he should’ve given way, but still it made me realize how Pig Headed I can be at times.

On the way I stopped for a Coffe, which did me the World of good. Then went to Armagh Cathedral for 5:30 Mass as I didn’t go this morning; though I went to Confession Yeaterday Evening. I feel better now.

Pictures taken at Springhill will be sent to Terri and Georgie when I get back home.

Today’s Horoscope (From Yahoo!)

February 24th, 2010 by desigol1979

There’s going to be so much to get done today that you might feel a little daunted about getting started. By midday you could even find yourself downright overwhelmed. Take a break, Cancer. Take a long lunch on an outside terrace, weather permitting. Breathe deeply until the stress subsides. You may need to concentrate on finishing only one or two minor tasks today and put the rest off until tomorrow. Remember, too much stress can take its toll on your health!

I am stressing myself out too much. I have been sending messages with Terri, to and from. I will take it easy and enjoy my Gig.

Got up early today

February 23rd, 2010 by desigol1979

Having had a convo on MSN with Terri last night I set my alarm for Half 8 this morning.

I woke up at half 7 to go to the Toilet, then went back to bed until the alarm sounded an Hour later. Then Gran went spare over her Tablets. It was probably a storm in a Teacup, but try telling that to her.

Then I went for a walk to the main Shop then over to the Shop where me and my Brother usually get Breakfast; which took 30 Minutes. I had breakfast there, but not too much. Afterwards I got a lift home.

I still feel a bit drowsy, but I’m feeling better inside.

My latest Horoscope reading (From Facebook App)

February 22nd, 2010 by desigol1979

You need to stay in step or with the conventional during this Quarter Moon, Cancer. It may seem like a long week for you, but this is the best way to overcome the tendency not to get enough sleep, or to mix business and pleasure. Try to take problems in stride, instead of taking an unrealistic view of them, or blowing them out of proportion. It’s all about following the rules and putting your best foot forward this week: this is not a good time to try and fly by the seat of your pants.

In other words, try and follow the OA program. The Chair of the Armagh meeting said to me that she thinks I’m losing weight. I am the world’s worst judge at Body Figures, but I take the complement.

Any outstanding issue I have I’ll discuss with my Sponsor.

Today

February 21st, 2010 by desigol1979

I’m having a better day today.

This Morning I bought products to make my own Dinner; curry, again; instead of ordering a Sunday Lunch. Then I did some prayer and readings. Then afterwards went to get the Car Washed; a self-service place that is cheaper than where I usually go.

Then I went to Drum Manor outside Cookstown for a dander. I walked for about 15 minutes as the park was about to close. I took some pictures on my iPhone.

I’m now anticipating my meeting. I went to Subway for Dinner since it’s cheaper and healthier. I walked to and from the venue for the meeting and the Shop where the Subway is.

Good day, hope it continues.
